Twenty-year-old Eagles talent Joveljic has been included in Tuttosport’s final shortlist of 20 players. This has him rubbing shoulders with three of his Bundesliga rivals, namely Alphonso Davies (FC Bayern Munich), Kai Havertz (Bayer 04 Leverkusen) and Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund). Last year’s winner Mathjis de Ligt, now of Juventus, is also in this year’s list. The last German player to win was Mario Götze in 2011.
Tuttosport has been running the award, in conjunction with Bild, L’Équipe, Marca and The Times, since 2003, when Rafael van der Vaart was the first winner.
