“We need to keep them occupied in defence”

Oliver Glasner knows Eintracht are going to need a perfect display against Bayern, including a strong performance from fit-again Kevin Trapp.

Oliver Glasner on...

…opponents Bayern Munich: “They’ve won the league 10 times in a row. They’ve only lost one of their 26 competitive games so far this season and have the best attack and the best defence in the league. We’re well prepared but won’t be able to stop them creating chances – they’re just too good. There are definitely easier tasks, but we're looking forward to it. We're going there with a great spirit and will do everything we can to win."

...Eintracht’s approach: “Bayern get on the attack early and have an incredible amount of pace in their ranks. We have to be compact and exploit the spaces afforded to us by winning our running duels and developing a goal threat. They usually commit a lot of players forward, which creates spaces for us. We want to make life difficult for them with the qualities at our disposal. We need to free ourselves from Bayern’s relentless pressure and push them back into their own half. We need to keep our opponents occupied in defence.”

The players have done a magnificent job. They go into every game with passion and enthusiasm.

…personnel: Everything has to go our way. We're going to need an outstanding performance from Kevin Trapp, who is fit and travelling with us. Kristijan Jakic has been struggling with minor knee problems all week but should be fine. Chris Lenz's finger is in a splint but he's okay. Makoto Hasebe has a slight cough – we’ll have to wait and see with him.”

...expectations: “In the Bundesliga you have to work hard for every win. The players have done a magnificent job. They go into every game with passion and enthusiasm. I can promise one thing: we won’t let up, we’ll be critical of ourselves, we remain hungry and want to keep improving.”
