“Everyone seems very focused”

Kevin Trapp looks ahead to Eintracht’s game against Basel and discusses his own future.

Kevin Trapp on…

…the return to training: We’re back from our holidays and everyone seems highly focused and well-rested. Our first few days with the ball were very intensive, although it obviously took some getting used to at first after four weeks without football. Everyone’s pulling their weight. We still have a week until our very important game in Basel and we feel very well prepared.

…rumours surrounding his future: I haven’t read [the reports], but I’m obviously aware of them. I’ve never thought about a transfer and haven’t just signed a five-year contract for no good reason. That’s why those reports don’t interest me. None of the management has spoken about wanting to sell me – they’ve just made it clear that nobody is untouchable given the current circumstances. That’s no great surprise for a club like Eintracht Frankfurt though. I’m planning my future here and already said a year ago that there’s great potential and a lot can be achieved here.

...the return leg in Basel: 3-0 was an emphatic scoreline but we didn’t play as badly in the first leg as the result suggests. It isn’t an easy situation but if anyone’s able to overturn the deficit, it’s us. We’ve already proven that on a couple of occasions.
