“Joy and pride”

Coach Glasner, captain Rode and match-winner Lindström are going into the winter break in high spirits after the win over Mainz.

Head coach Oliver Glasner: “I’m really happy and pleased with the result and the performance. It was a deserved win and a fantastic conclusion to a very good first half of the season. We’ve picked up a lot of points lately, our performance level has stabilised. We go into a well-earned Christmas break with great joy and pride in my players. All the players were always there for the team and for Eintracht Frankfurt. That was the real key. My biggest wish for the New Year is that we can play in front of a full house at Deutsche Bank Park.”

Sebastian Rode: “It got a bit tight and nervy towards the end, which we obviously could’ve done without. But overall, the win is highly deserved. In my view it’s pretty much been an excellent first half of the season. Having dropped too many points to begin with, to go into the winter break with 27 points reflects the development of the group. The spirit is great, to have so much energy especially at the end, to fight like that and win three games in a row.”

Jesper Lindström: “We’re going into the Christmas break with a win, which is the most important thing. I’m pleased that I could also help the team and give the fans something back. Every match in the Bundesliga is difficult, but we have the necessary mentality where everyone fights for each other. We’ve currently achieved more than what people would’ve expected at the start of this journey.”
