The 28-year-old custodian has joined the Ruhr district club on loan until summer 2019 and will hope to help the Zebras – who currently sit 16th – avoid relegation from Bundesliga 2. Wiedwald did not feature competitively for Eintracht in the first half of the campaign.
"Felix is a top pro and – despite the tough situation – has always demonstrated that with us," said Eintracht board member Fredi Bobic. "It's only reasonable that he wants to play more regularly and he sees that opportunity at MSV Duisburg. We wish him and his team all the best for the second half of the season."
Wiedwald, who joined Eintracht from English second-tier side Leeds United in summer 2018, represented Duisburg between 2011 and 2013.
