“Going there with a good feeling”

Adi Hütter looks ahead to Eintracht’s trip to Bayer Leverkusen and shares his thoughts on the rest of the season, rotation and respecting opponents.

Adi Hütter on…

…Eintracht’s record against Leverkusen: “We’ve never managed to perform the way we ought to in Leverkusen, but nevertheless, we’re going there with a good feeling because we’re back to winning ways. Leverkusen are under enormous pressure in their bid to qualify for Europe.”

…Leverkusen coach Hannes Wolf: “They’ve had less possession since Wolf’s been in charge. They’re trying to defend better and counter-attack differently. We’re setting up expecting them to have less possession but to be solid in defence. Leverkusen are a good side with a lot of speed and good technical ability. They still have their weaknesses though and we need to exploit those.”

The main thing for us now is to beat a really top side in Leverkusen and perform to the best of our abilities.

Head coach Adi Hütter

…having a weekend off at the start of May: “We want to use the free weekend to give the players one or two days off after some very intense and tiring matches. After that, we’d like to turn all our focus on the final straight and head into the last three games feeling mentally and physically energised.”

…the rest of the season: “On paper we perhaps have an easier run-in than our direct rivals, but we still have to face some tough opponents. We must on no account underestimate the opposition. The main thing for us now is to beat a really top side in Leverkusen and perform to the best of our abilities.”
