Eternal Oka Stays Put

Goalkeeper Oka Nikolov has extended his contract with Eintracht until the 30th of June 2013 and will remain part of the squad for another year.

"Eternal Oka" has been playing for Eintracht since 1991 and just recently in October 2011 he had his 350th league match for Eintracht (both Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga). He is now on 221 top division appearances and 131 in Bundesliga 2.

The goalkeeper his highly rated within the fans, for his faithfulness to the club and his loyalty which is rarely seen in in modern football anymore. He celebrated three promotions with the Eagles (1998, 2003 and 2005) and he reached the German DFB Cup final in 2006 with Eintracht.

Oka Nikolov: "I am glad and happy that Eintracht wants to continue working with me for another year."

Sporting Director Bruno Hübner: "Oka is a great guy and very important for the structure within the team. Based on his achievements in the team it is simply right to extend the contract."

Manager Armin Veh: "We would be stupid if we would not keep him on board."
