“I’m expecting a hard-fought game”

Adi Hütter shared his thoughts on Borussia Mönchengladbach, the Bundesliga, personnel issues and several other topics at his pre-match press conference.

Adi Hütter on…

…personnel: “It's looking good regarding Andre Silva. He trained fully today and is possibly an option for tomorrow. Everyone's fit. That includes Erik Durm, who's fine to play.”

…tactical options: “We’re still contemplating whether to play with one or two up front. Both are possibilities, but we need to take care of our strikers because we only have two fit ones at the moment. We need to weigh up the injury risks because we still have an important game at Augsburg.”

…playing behind closed doors: “There’s no more home advantage anymore, which is a disadvantage for all home teams but especially for us. On top of that, we also benefited from playing in front of our fans away from home, who spurred us on. But as I said, it also affects other teams and the situation is what it is. We have to accept it.”

There’s no more home advantage anymore.

Head coach Adi Hütter

…Eintracht’s upcoming opponents: “Gladbach have gone a few games without a win, but landed a coup by reaching the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League. I'm expecting Borussia to play 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3, and I'm expecting a hard-fought match.”

…the Bundesliga: “I heard there’s a statistic that says there have been almost 30 per cent more draws than before coronavirus. That applies to us just as much as the likes of Wolfsburg and other clubs. Everything’s very tight. We want to use our next two games to keep alive our chances of staying in touch with the teams above us. It’s still hard to tell where our journey will take us. We’re clearly not satisfied with our points total.”
