Another draw in Youth League

Eintracht’s U19s twice led at Olympique de Marseille but conceded a stoppage-time equaliser to draw 2-2.

After drawing 1-1 in their first UEFA Youth League match against Sporting Clube de Portugal, the Eintracht Frankfurt U19s played out a 2-2 draw away to their Olympique de Marseille counterparts.

Damir Agovic’s side took the lead in the ninth minute through Marcel Wenig, but Yakine Said Mmadi levelled for Marseille in the 21st minute with a free-kick to make it 1-1, which is how it stayed until half-time.

In a hard-fought contest, Divaio Bobson put Frankfurt 2-1 up on the hour mark. Victory looked even more secure for the Eagles when Raimane Daou was dismissed for a second bookable offence eight minutes later, but the French side salvaged a point in the 97th minute, when goalkeeper Jelle Van Neck equalised from a corner.

Two draws in two matches leave Eintracht in third place in Group D with two points. They next host Tottenham Hotspur in Frankfurt on Tuesday 4 October (kick-off 14:00 CEST).
