SGE return to Dallas Cup

With the U17 girls and U14 boys involved, Eintracht will once again have two teams at the Dallas Cup, which is celebrating its 44th edition in 2023.

The Dallas Cup – one of the most prestigious youth football tournaments in the world – was a great success for Eintracht Frankfurt earlier this year. The U14 boys brought the trophy home to the Riederwald for the sixth time in the event’s history, while an Eintracht junior women’s team also took part for the first time in 2022.

Eintracht have become one of the big hitters at the Dallas Cup, taking part on no fewer than 16 occasions since 2004, and No.17 is already scheduled in for 1–9 April 2023. Once again, the Eagles will be represented by their U17 girls’ and U14 boys’ teams over in the Lone Star State.

The U14 boys won the title at this year’s Dallas Cup.

The Dallas Cup is a very special experience on a number of levels. The 2023 edition will see some 35 countries from various continents sending more than 6,000 male and female youth players to Texas. Over 100,000 fans are expected to follow the excitement of the matches at five different venues. The opening ceremony is traditionally held in the Cotton Bowl Stadium, and this year it will feature yet more big names, including Arsenal, Sporting Clube de Portugal, Toronto FC and CF Monterrey.

Taking part in the tournament is very important for the players, both on the pitch and in terms of the cultural experience.

Armin Kraaz, head of American Sporting Projects at Eintracht Frankfurt

“Taking part in the Dallas Cup has been a tradition now for a number of years for Eintracht Frankfurt and we really look forward to the tournament every year,” said Armin Kraaz, head of American Sporting Projects at Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG. “The boys have already brought a few trophies back to Frankfurt, and it’s all the more pleasing that our girls will be involved for the second time in such a high-class international tournament. Taking part in the tournament is very important for the players, both on the pitch and in terms of the cultural experience. For Eintracht as a club, the Dallas Cup has a presence and a reach throughout the USA that offers us the ideal platform for our globalisation strategy.”

“We are delighted to welcome Eintracht Frankfurt here once again to the Dallas Cup next April,” added Peter Davis, Executive Director of the Dallas Cup. “The most recent edition was very special for us, as it was the first time since 2019 that we were able to host international teams once again. It was wonderful to see a world-famous club like Eintracht Frankfurt contributing to the development of international competition via the Girls’ Invitational. The U14 boys also put in one of the best performances of the entire tournament. Eintracht Frankfurt have enjoyed a great deal of success with us and we’re excited to see how they perform at the tournament this time around.”
