Eintracht Frankfurt and 1. FC Kaiserslautern have agreed terms on the transfer of Erik Durm, in a move that will see the full-back return to his home region of Rhineland-Palatinate. Durm’s contract with the Eagles was originally set to run through to 30 June 2023.
The 30-year-old joined Eintracht from Huddersfield Town in 2019, and went on to make 46 appearances for the club in all competitions, with the highlight obviously being the UEFA Europa League win earlier this year. This transfer sees him join a Kaiserslautern side that has just been promoted to Bundesliga 2 after a four-year absence.
“We would like to thank Erik for his commitment to the club over the past three years,” said board member for sport Markus Krösche. “We wish him every success with this new challenge.”
