Eagles pass Torino test

Eintracht Frankfurt rounded off their training camp in Austria with a 3-1 win over Torino on Friday afternoon.

Oliver Glasner again fielded two completely different line-ups in each half, although he did have to make one change earlier than planned as Christopher Lenz was forced off after 35 minutes, with Timothy Chandler taking his place.

Torino had the first opportunity after four minutes when Nemanja Radonjic’s shot was blocked by the feet of Kevin Trapp, but it was the Eagles who made the breakthrough five minutes later. Almamy Toure burst forward from his own half before unleashing an unstoppable strike into the top corner from just outside the area. Rafael Borré could have extended the lead before half-time, but his chip landed on the roof of the net.

Randal Kolo Muani.

Mario Götze was among the players brought on at half-time and the new signing was involved straight away, providing the pass for Jesper Lindström to weave his way into the box and then find the net at the second attempt. The Dane then turned provider for the third goal in the 63rd minute, cutting the ball back for Lucas Alario to get on the scoresheet.

Lindström missed two good opportunities in quick succession to add to his and his team’s tally in the closing stages. Instead it was the Italian side who scored the final goal of the day, Krisztofer Horvath curling the ball past Diant Ramaj – the first goal Eintracht have conceded this pre-season.

Almamy Toure scored the opener for the Eagles.
