Eagles soar on international stage

Daichi Kamada, Ajdin Hrustic, Djibril Sow, Steven Zuber and Markus Schubert all enjoyed wins with their national teams.

Djibril Sow (who played the full 90 minutes) and Steven Zuber (67 minutes) were part of a Swiss team that romped to a 7-0 win in a friendly over Liechtenstein. Both Eintracht players put in a strong performance.

Memorable full debut for Hrustic

Ajdin Hrustic made his full debut in Australia’s 3-0 World Cup qualifying win over Kuwait and scored the final goal of a 3-0 win in the 66th minute with a lovely free kick. Daichi Kamada also tasted victory with Japan, with the Blue Samurai playing their own U24s in a friendly and coming out on top 3-0. Kamada scored the second in the 41st minute just before being substituted.

Markus Schubert was on the bench for Germany’s U21 EURO semi-final against the Netherlands which ended in a 2-1 win for the Germans, who are now through to meet Portugal in Sunday’s EURO 21 final.
