Eintracht sign Sam Lammers

The 24-year-old striker has moved to Frankfurt from Atalanta on a loan deal until 30 June 2022.

Atalanta BC have agreed to loan Sam Lammers to Eintracht Frankfurt until the end of the season. The 1.91-metre-tall Dutchman is a centre-forward in the classical mould, and will consequently wear the number nine shirt in Frankfurt.

Lammers scored two goals in 15 Serie A appearances for the Bergamo club last season. Before that, he’d been at PSV Eindhoven since 2010, progressing from the U15 team through to the first team, leaving only to spend the 2018/19 campaign on loan at SC Heerenveen, where he scored 19 goals in 35 competitive games.

With his physical presence in and around the penalty box, his technical ability and his understanding of the game, he’ll soon be able to help us.

Board member Markus Krösche

The Tilburg-born striker celebrated the biggest success of his career in the 2017/18 season, when he claimed the Eredivisie title. He netted a total of 56 goals for PSV across the U19s, reserves and first team.

The 24-year-old has also made 11 appearances for the Dutch U21 side, five for the U20s and 14 at U19 level.

Eintracht board member for sport Markus Krösche said: “Sam is a player who gives us greater flexibility in attack. He was one of our top targets from the start and we’re very happy that he wants to play for Eintracht straight away. With his physical presence in and around the penalty box, his technical ability and his understanding of the game, he’ll soon be able to help us.”
