Eintracht sign Krisztián Lisztes

The Hungarian U21 international will move from Budapest to Frankfurt on a five-year contract next summer.

Eintracht Frankfurt have secured the services of young Hungarian attacker Krisztián Lisztes, who will join the club from Ferencvárosi Torna Club ahead of the 2024/25 season on a contract until 2029.

The 18-year-old, whose father of the same name also played in the Bundesliga, is a youth team graduate of the 34-time Hungarian champions; he made his top-flight debut in May 2022, aged just 17 years and eight days. In nine league appearances between April and May this year, Lisztes registered five goals and an assist to get his hands on his first domestic title with the club. He was recently named “Discovery of the Year” by the Hungarian Football Association and will play UEFA Europa Conference League football with Ferencváros this term.

We look forward to welcoming him to Frankfurt next season, with all his intensity and dynamism, as well as his direct and indirect goal threat.

Sporting director Timmo Hardung

Lisztes has scored seven and set up a further two goals in 21 outings for the first team to date. The goalscoring instincts, technique and versatility of the attacking all-rounder, who can play on both wings, as a centre-forward and behind the main striker, have also come in useful at international level: on 15 June 2023, he marked his debut for Hungary’s U21s by scoring the decisive goal in a 1-0 victory over Slovakia.

Sporting director Timmo Hardung: “Krisztián Lisztes has thrust himself into the spotlight in recent months. Most significantly, we’ve wasted little time in filling an important position in our plans with another highly talented player. We’re pleased to be able to offer him good prospects at Eintracht Frankfurt. We’re confident that, for now, Krisztián will continue his development in familiar surroundings and gain even more competitive match practice. We look forward to welcoming him to Frankfurt next season, with all his intensity and dynamism, as well as his direct and indirect goal threat.”
