Eintracht Frankfurt were handed a UEFA Europa League round of 16 tie with Real Betis in Friday’s draw, which was conducted by three-time UEFA Cup winner Andrés Palop. Oliver Glasner’s side travel to Seville on Wednesday 9 March (kick-off 18:45 CET) before attempting to book their place in the quarter-finals at Deutsche Bank Park on the evening of Thursday 17 March.
Betis took on Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League group stage earlier this season, losing 4-0 away and drawing 1-1 on home soil. They are currently third in La Liga and secured their spot in the last 16 with victory over Zenit St Petersburg in the play-off round. “Betis are strong opponents as they are currently third in the Spanish league,” said board member for sport Markus Krösche. “We’ll do everything to reach the next round.”
