Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 US Palermo

As part of their training camp in the Austrian town of Kärnten, Eintracht ran out 2-1 winners over Italian Europa League contestants Palermo.

Neither goalkeeper was seriously troubled in the first half, with Theofanis Gekas spurning Frankfurt's best opportunity of the opening 45. Still Palermo managed to take the lead just before the interval as former Middlesbrough frontman Massimo Maccarrone's strike took a deflection off Maik Franz and left Eintracht goalkeeper Ralf Fährmann with no chance.

Five minutes into the second period and Frankfurt were level. Franz was fouled in the box, the referee pointed immediately to the spot, and Halil Altintop slotted home his second penalty in as many games to restore parity.

The winner for the hosts came on 71 minutes. Altintop superbly teed up Martin Fenin, and the Czech international had no trouble finding the net from around six yards out.
