Eintracht Frankfurt's road to the DFB Cup final

Eintracht Frankfurt have reached the DFB Cup final for the second season running, with Niko Kovac's troops only conceding one goal along the way.

For the second successive year the Eagles will be making the trip to Berlin for the DFB Cup final, with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich lying in wait on 19 May. We've rounded up Eintracht's road to the final below.

12 August 2017, First Round, TuS Erndtebrück 0-3 Eintracht Frankfurt

Although the Eagles were reduced to ten men midway through the first half when David Abraham saw red, the win against fourth-tier Erndtebrück was never in doubt once Timothy Chandler opened the scoring in the 35th minute. Goals from Mijat Gacinovic and Sebastien Haller followed.

24 October 2017, Second Round, 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 0-4 Eintracht Frankfurt

It wasn't the prettiest game of football ever seen, but Eintracht emerged comfortable winners in Bavaria thanks to a brace from Haller and goals from Marius Wolf and Danny Blum.

20 December 2017, Round of 16, 1. FC Heidenheim 1-2 Eintracht Frankfurt (after extra time)

It was tough going against a deep-lying, defensive-minded Heidenheim outfit, who held their own during the 90 minutes: Gacinovic opened the scoring in extra time, but Marc Schnatterer responded almost instantly for the hosts. Eventually, though, after good work from Danny da Costa, Haller secured the Eagles a place in the quarter finals.

7 February 2018, Quarter-finals, Eintracht Frankfurt 3-0 1. FSV Mainz 05

It turned into an unexpectedly comfortable victory against local rivals Mainz in the last eight: after Ante Rebic capitalised on a Rene Adler mistake to give the Eagles the lead, Alexander Hack scored an own-goal. Omar Mascarell's chipped finish rounded off a memorable night at the Commerzbank-Arena.

18 April 2018, Semi-finals, FC Schalke 04 0-1 Eintracht Frankfurt

The stakes were high and it was a tense affair in Gelsenkirchen: chances were few and far between, but Luka Jovic took his when it arrived. Rising highest at the near post following a corner, the Serbian striker flicked sensationally past Ralf Fährmann and not even Gelson Fernandes' late dismissal could deny Frankfurt a trip to Berlin for the second year running.
