Eintracht Frankfurt sign Mahmoud Dahoud

The midfielder has joined on a free transfer from English Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion. The 28-year-old has penned a contract until 2026 and will wear the number 18 jersey.

Mahmoud Dahoud started out in the game in the youth academies of Fortuna Düsseldorf and Borussia Mönchengladbach, making his professional debut for the latter at the age of 18.

He gained plenty of Bundesliga experience in subsequent years, registering eight goals and 16 assists across 86 competitive appearances for Gladbach prior to moving to Borussia Dortmund at the start of the 2017/18 campaign.

Dahoud featured 141 times for Dortmund across six years, contributing five goals and 17 assists as well as winning the DFL Supercup in 2020 and the DFB Cup a year later.

He switched to Brighton & Hove Albion in summer 2023, playing 14 times in the first half of the season. The midfielder was loaned to VfB Stuttgart at the start of February this year, featuring a further 14 times and scoring once.

Dahoud has two senior international caps for Germany, having represented his country 44 times at youth level.

We’re pleased that Mo is an Eagle now.

Sporting director Timmo Hardung

Sporting director Timmo Hardung: “In Mo Dahoud we’ve signed an experienced player who knows the Bundesliga well and is at the perfect age for a footballer. By bringing him in we’ve not only reacted to Oscar Højlund’s injury, but also reinforced our options in a central position in the long term with a high-calibre player. We’re pleased that Mo is an Eagle now.”

Mahmoud Dahoud: “I received a very warm welcome and am delighted to be at Eintracht. I want to play with joy, team spirit and passion. I always want to win.”
