Eintracht Frankfurt gets keys to Deutsche Bank Park

Following the signing of the contract at the end of June, Frankfurt mayor Peter Feldmann ceremonially handed over the keys to the stadium to Eintracht board member Axel Hellmann on Monday.

On 30 June, the City of Frankfurt and Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG put pen to paper on a commercial leasing agreement for the usage of the stadium and the area belonging to it, which has been in effect since 1 July.

This was followed on Monday 3 August by the symbolic handover of the keys from Frankfurt mayor Peter Feldmann to Eintracht board member Axel Hellmann on the Deutsche Bank Park business terrace, with Eintracht Frankfurt Stadion GmbH chief executives Julien Zamberk and Patrik Meyer also in attendance.

The Stadtwald stadium area has been a community meeting place going back to 1925, and our football must remain accessible and affordable for all.

The contract gives the club price stability, including for example to freeze ticket prices for five years in the standing area after that part has been extended to increase the stadium capacity to around 60,000, and to provide a thousand free tickets for every home match to social institutions and schools. “The Stadtwald stadium area has been a community meeting place going back to 1925, and our football must remain accessible and affordable for all,” said Hellman.

Eintracht Frankfurt will thus be the main tenants of Deutsche Bank Park for the next 15 years. The capacity extension is set to be complete by spring 2023, while the stadium will also be fitted with black seats and white stairways, making it even more of a symbol of the club.
