Eintracht Frankfurt fined, Bruno Hübner handed two-match ban

The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Commission has fined Eintracht Frankfurt €58,000 and ordered one block of the stadium to be closed in the club's next European home game.

A block in the main stand above the players' tunnel, from where objects were thrown at the refereeing team, will be closed for Eintracht's next UEFA Europa League home game.
The financial sanction, which was announced on Friday, comes as a result of incidents during the UEFA Europa League qualifying play-offs against RC Strasbourg on 22 and 29 August 2019, whereby objects were thrown from the stands, pyrotechnics were let off and steps were blocked by fans. In addition, a block in the main stand above the players' tunnel, from where objects were thrown at the refereeing team, will be closed for Eintracht's next European home game.

Two-match ban for Bruno Hübner

Furthermore, Eintracht sporting director Bruno Hübner has received a two-man ban from the same UEFA body. Hübner was involved in a verbal dispute with match officials and members of the Strasbourg team in the second leg of the clubs' Europa League play-off tie and was sent to the stands by the referee.

The subsequent automatic one-match suspension, which he served against Arsenal on Thursday, has now been increased to two matches by the UEFA commission. A decision about whether to file an appeal will be made at the start of the coming week.
