The 'United Colors of Frankfurt' campaign is celebrating its comeback, this time with the slogan "Eintracht thrives on diversity". The various supporters' clubs of what has always traditionally been a diverse Eintracht Frankfurt fan base are behind the initiative, designed to express their stance on unity and togetherness. It is the third such event, following on from similar campaigns in 1994 and 2008.
"Our city, our club and its fans thrive on diversity, and diversity is what makes Eintracht what it is," said Ina Kobuschinski, chairperson of the Eintracht Frankfurt Fan Club Association e.V. "That's what United Colors of Frankfurt stands for." The governing body of the almost 900 fan clubs that collectively house over 45,000 members initiated the campaign with the support of the entire fan community in Frankfurt. "The message is to express the fundamental stance that all Eintracht fans belong together, regardless of where they come from, how they look or their gender," continued Kobuschinski. "Everyone is welcome here and they're one of us."
The campaign message will provide the umbrella motto for Eintracht's match against TSG Hoffenheim on Sunday 8 April (kick-off 18:00 CEST). The initiative will be supported by Eintracht Frankfurt and the club's primary official sponsor Indeed, who have agreed for the 'United Colors of Frankfurt' logo to replace their own on the team's shirts for the game.
Eintracht board member Axel Hellmann is enthusiastic about the planned events: "Our fans sent out a clear message in 1994 with the slogan 'United Colors of Bembeltown'. In 2008 they set another example with the campaign 'United Colors of Frankfurt – Open to all Colors'. Eintracht Frankfurt are fortunate to have a fan community that addresses a topic that deeply affects our society, expressing the exact same values that Eintracht Frankfurt stand for."
