The Eagles trained intensely for around 85 minutes on Monday. Although several players remained absent due to international commitments or injuries, Kevin Trapp and Lucas Torró were back among the 20-man group.
While Trapp only completed a light session following his recent knock, Torró trained fully for the first time since returning from a trip home. After some laps of the pitch to warm up, fitness coach Martin Spohrer concentrated on leg work, before the rest of the session was spent with the ball.
High pressure in tight spaces
Assistant coaches Armin Reutershahn and Christian Peintinger then split the players into two groups to work on their passing sharpness. After around 45 minutes, the groups reconvened for a drill in which the aim was to complete ten passes without the opponents touching the ball.
High pressure was the name of the game in the final nine-on-nine match, supervised by head coach Adi Hütter, in which both teams had to go for goal at every opportunity. An intense start to the week has left no doubt that the improving Eagles are hungry for more.
