Dress Rehearsal Defeat

The Eagles lost their last test match ahead of the restart of Bundesliga 2 against FC Lausanne-Sport on Sunday afternoon. Prijovic scored the match winning goal for the Swiss outfit after 42 minutes.

Eintracht manager Armin Veh tried out Meier and Köhler up front as well as Korkmaz and Matmour on the wings, Butscher and Bellaid featured in central defense. The Eagles were at eye level with Lausanne who are currently ranked third from bottom in the Swiss Axpo Super League. Prijovic scored the lead out of the blue just before the break, Lausanne seemed pretty harmless until then.

Veh brought on Friend and Hoffer in the second half, Köhler and Meier moved back to midfield, also Kessler (in goal), Schildenfeld and later Kittel and Caio came on. Eintracht's game seemed improved by a margin, still they gave away plenty of chances to equalize. Meier and Lehmann both hit the post.

In the end it was an unlucky defeat in front of 5,000 on a freezing cold winter night. On Sunday Eintracht will meet their namesake from Braunschweig in the first Bundesliga 2 match in 2012 (kick-off at 13.30h CET).
