Strong home record against BVB
Borussia Dortmund are always a strong opponent on paper, and they travel to Frankfurt as Bundesliga leaders. Yet Eintracht have performed well at home against the Black and Yellows in recent years, winning each of their last three league meetings in Frankfurt. In fact, Dortmund have only won one of their last seven visits.
In-form attacking duo
Niko Kovac will again be counting on in-form attackers Sébastien Haller and Ante Rebic against Peter Bosz’s side. Both have scored three goals already this season. Rebic has already bettered his league tally from the whole of last season (two goals), while Frenchman Haller is SGE’s top attacking performer with two assists to go with his three goals. Between them the pair have scored 75 per cent of Eintracht’s goals this term.
Prolific Aubameyang
The Black and Yellows have a few players of their own who know where the back of the net is. Star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has already scored ten in the first eight games this season. It is only the ninth time in Bundesliga history that a player has reached double figures in such a short space of time.
Special memories for Kovac brothers
A match against Dortmund is always a special one for Eintracht head coach Niko Kovac. On 17 August 1996 he made his Bundesliga debut as a player for Bayer Leverkusen against Dortmund, and celebrated it with a 4-2 win. Assistant coach Robert Kovac played his final 26 Bundesliga games for Borussia between 2007 and 2009.Kevin-Prince Boateng also has a history with Dortmund (see interview) and made ten Bundesliga appearances for them during a loan spell from Tottenham Hotspur in 2009.Match info• Kick-off: Saturday 21 October, 15:30 CEST, Matchday 9 of the 2017/18 season• Venue: Commerzbank-Arena, Frankfurt
