Stuttgart preparations under way

The latest from the training ground, where four first-team players were still absent and Mario Götze trained individually in the morning shift.

Preparations for the Saturday evening match at VfB Stuttgart got going with a double shift. The Eagles were full of energy for the technical and tactical exercises as they head into the final six weeks of the Bundesliga season. Mario Götze was absent from the morning session, working in the gym at the ProfiCamp, while Hugo Ekitiké also trained individually. Ellyes Skhiri is in rehabilitative training after a minor calf problem.

Talents in training

The Tunisian’s last-minute withdrawal last Friday led to a professional debut for Nnamdi Collins. The 20-year-old centre-back became the tenth Eintracht player aged 21 or under to feature in the Bundesliga this season – the highest figure in the league in 2023/24. The Frankfurt school is continuing to assert itself: alongside youngsters Collins, Elias Baum, Ignacio Ferri Julià and January signing Jean-Mattéo Bahoya in training were U19 talents Marko Mladenovic and Paul Wünsch as well as U17 goalkeeper Amil Siljevic.

There’ll now be one session each day from Wednesday to Friday, before the Eintracht squad set off for Baden-Württemberg.
