Diant Ramaj to join Eagles

Eintracht Frankfurt have secured the services of another talented youngster after agreeing a deal for Germany youth goalkeeper Diant Ramaj, who has signed a contract through to 30 June 2024.

Eintracht Frankfurt have agreed a deal to sign Diant Ramaj from 1. FC Heidenheim 1846. The highly rated 19-year-old goalkeeper will join the Bundesliga club on 1 July 2021 on a contract until 30 June 2024.

Born in Stuttgart, Ramaj came through the youth ranks at VfB Stuttgart before joining neighbours SV Stuttgarter Kickers in 2015. After 46 appearances for their under-17 team, the goalkeeper signed for Heidenheim in 2018 and went on to play 42 games for the under-19s, keeping 10 clean sheets in the process. The 1.86-metre stopper with Kosovan ancestry has clocked up nine appearances at Germany youth level and made Heidenheim’s  matchday squad on one occasion each in the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons. He signed his first professional contract in 2019 at the age of 17.

We’re certain that Diant can take his next steps at a higher level with us.

Goalkeeping coach Jan Zimmermann

Eintracht goalkeeping coach Jan Zimmerman has “always followed Diant’s path very closely”, adding: “We’ve managed to sign a very promising young German international who, despite being only 19 years old, has already trained at a professional level for two years and has gained international experience with Germany’s youth teams on several occasions. We’re certain that Diant can take his next steps at a higher level with us.”

Ramaj is the Eagles’ third new signing for the 2021/21 campaign after Christopher Lenz and Ali Akman.
