“The pressure is on Dortmund”

Adi Hütter shares his thoughts on Eintracht’s trip to direct rivals Borussia Dortmund and the Eagles’ April schedule.

Adi Hütter on…

…Eintracht’s chances in Dortmund: “We need a good day, everything needs to be right. We also want to grasp the opportunity to win against the best teams. We want to try to go for the win. We’ve got a real opportunity to keep some distance between ourselves and our opponents. It always depends on how the match plays out. The fact is, whatever happens, we’ll still be fourth after the match. The pressure is on Dortmund."

…tactical considerations: “It’d be very bold to play with two strikers. We need to work very hard in both directions, offensively and defensively. We have to defend very well, we can’t leave too much space and can’t let ourselves be pushed too deep. We need a good balance. Each team has problem areas, and that’s the case with BVB as well."

The most important thing is to have a major goal that we all want to achieve. I’m 100% focused on our task. April is an important month for us.

Head coach Adi Hütter

...personnel: “Martin Hinteregger will not be playing – he’s still working his way back to fitness and we don’t want to take any risks. Durm’s trained with the team and I’ll decide on him over the remaining 72 hours until the match.”

…Erling Haaland: “Keeping him quiet is definitely a huge challenge. Nobody can get the better of Haaland alone. We need to defend well – after all, they not only have Haaland but several players who pose a threat in front of goal.”

…the coming weeks: “First and foremost, we’re looking forward to our upcoming tasks and challenges. We head into these games full of excitement. The most important thing is to have a major goal that we all want to achieve. I’m 100% focused on our task. April is an important month for us.”
