Defender Almamy Toure will spend the foreseeable future with Eintracht in the Bundesliga after joining the club from AS Monaco. The 22-year-old, who holds both French and Malian citizenship, has signed a contract until 30 June 2023.
Toure progressed through the Monaco youth ranks before signing his first professional contract with the principality club. The defender, who can play at centre-back and at right-back, made four league appearances and one UEFA Champions League appearance for the Ligue 1 outfit during the current campaign but has recently been sidelined with a thigh injury.
Talented and experienced
“Almany Toure increases our flexibility in defence,” said board member Fredi Bobic. “As a 22-year-old he fits our transfer blueprint and still has potential to improve. We have scouted Almamy thoroughly and are getting a talented player who already has a fair amount of experience.”
“I’m very pleased to join Eintracht Frankfurt and can hardly wait to experience the atmosphere in the stadium in person,” added Toure. “I’m also looking forward to getting to know my new team-mates and meeting the new challenges head-on.”
The tall right-footed player has made 54 Ligue 1 appearances to date, while also appearing ten times in the Champions League and twice in the UEFA Europe League. Toure has been handed the number 18 jersey.
