Eintracht will be preparing for the second half of the Bundesliga season in Alicante until Sunday. We will keep you updated every day with how the Eagles are getting on, providing the latest news from the Coca-Cola-sponsored training camp.
Short but intense morning workout: The weather might have been perfect in Spain, but the Frankfurt players were probably not feeling as sunny when they saw what was on the agenda for Wednesday morning's workout: medicine balls, sand bags and ladder drills. The day's first session comprised various coordination and physical exercises that sufficiently warmed up Kovac's troops. The second session of the day, which was scheduled to get going at 16:30 CET, was due to include more ball and tactical work. "The first session was pretty tough but that's part and parcel for this time of year," said midfielder Makoto Hasebe. "We need to build up our fitness for the second half of the season and we don't have much time until the first game. That means we have to work hard in the next few days."
New faces: While there have been no significant changes to the squad, the backroom staff have welcomed a new addition with physiotherapist Patrick Krux joining the team in Alicante. As well as Krux, new technical director Marco Pezzaiuoli also checked in: "I've been welcomed really well and the atmosphere within the team is outstanding," Pezzaiuoli said.
