David Abraham extends contract until 2021

Argentinian defender David Abraham has committed his long-term future to Eintracht after signing a contract extension at the club.

Eintracht Frankfurt defensive stalwart David Abraham has signed a contract extension at the club, tying him to the Eagles until 2021. His previous deal was due to expire in June 2019. The vice captain, who joined Eintracht in summer 2015 from TSG Hoffenheim, has played in all 15 Bundesliga games so far this season.

Board member Fredi Bobic was understandably delighted with the news: "David is an absolute pillar in our defence and an exemplary leader in our squad. He's played a significant role in helping our backline gel together so quickly after so many new faces joined this season. But that's not the only reason we're happy he's signed an extension – as a person David is vital for the team. The fact that he'll be with us for an additional two years gives us great stability."

David Abraham himself was typically humble after putting pen to paper: "I feel right at home at Eintracht and in Frankfurt itself. The club have big ambitions – there are a lot of changes taking place here – and that motivates us all. That's why I'm absolutely delighted to continue to be part of this team."
