Seppl, 2022 is over. How much can and should you hold on to from the past year?
“It’s important to keep recalling the beautiful moments that gave us so many goosebumps. After all, we want to achieve this feeling again. The more this will to succeed is inside you, the sooner you’ll get there again.”
How do you view the state of the team following the training camp?
“Very good. We already started the new year well with the two sessions in Frankfurt. The team have made a brilliant impression in the training sessions in Dubai.”
It’s really hard work, but what are the nice moments at a training camp?
“Either the times when I’m doing regeneration or the moments when I’ve survived a hard session together with my teammates. That binds you together and gives you strength for the league.”
As captain, are you particularly tasked with maintaining the balance between fun and serious work?
“I discuss things with the coach at some junctions. For example, what we do on a free afternoon so that the boys can have a change of scenery. We’ve managed that quite well.”
We’re in a good position in the Bundesliga and are still in all three competitions overall.

Looking ahead, what do Eintracht have their sights set on in the first half of this year?
“A lot! We’re kicking off with an unbelievable week: Schalke, Freiburg and Bayern. We’ve got Darmstadt in the cup, Napoli in the Champions League. We’re in a good position in the Bundesliga and are still in all three competitions overall.”
