“That’s what spurs us on”

After the 2-1 win against West Ham, head coach Oliver Glasner and players Kevin Trapp and Ansgar Knauff stressed that the performance is the benchmark for the second leg.

Head coach Oliver Glasner: “The team’s performance impressed me. We came out of the dressing room, playing in front of 60,000 fans, and led after one minute because we got forward and played with courage. I’m proud that I get to work with such players.”

Kevin Trapp: “We produced an outstanding performance. The first half was relatively equal. In the second we dominated more and were much more assured on the ball, although it was still an intense game. The team, the club and the fans enjoy these European outings against teams like this. That’s what spurs us on. The way we perform in these games is phenomenal.”

The journey continues, we’re one step from the final. We’re going to do everything we can with the team and the fans to get there.

Ansgar Knauff

Ansgar Knauff: “It was an incredible game. We kicked off and immediately scored the first goal through me. That was a great feeling. The fans helped us a lot again. Even though there weren’t as many this time, they created a super atmosphere. We defended very strongly in the last 20 minutes, even though West Ham were a constant threat from crosses and set pieces with the height they have. The journey continues, we’re one step from the final. We’re going to do everything we can with the team and the fans to get there.”
