“We need to believe in ourselves”

Oliver Glasner is looking forward to the match against Augsburg and promises that his team will come out and attack.

…coping with two defeats to start the season: “We were obviously hoping for and expecting a different start. What’s important for us is not to get too tied up with things but to keep it loose and believe in ourselves. The main thing we focused on this week was belief and getting some consistency back into our game.”

…his impressions of this week’s sessions: “The team have been fantastic in training this week and all the lads were fully involved. Sebastian Rode unfortunately had to have surgery on his knee but we’ll do everything we can to get him back as early as possible. In terms of our play, we need to believe in ourselves – regardless of how we’ve started the season. We want to keep playing attacking and bold football with conviction. Our task is to get them to believe more in their own abilities.”

25,000 is a great number. The one slight downside is that the whole fan community won’t be able to be there.

…different set-ups: “We always need to be asking ourselves how we can put what we have been thinking about into practice out on the pitch, and which qualities we need from individual players against each different opponent. First though, we need to settle on formations in which most players feel comfortable with one another.”

…this week’s opponents: “Augsburg’s heavy defeat on the opening day doesn’t fully reflect how the match played out. Hoffenheim only really got the upper hand towards the end. We’re expecting to face a very well-organised and physical team, and one that we’ll have to work hard to break down.”

…looking forward to playing in front of home fans: “We’re looking forward to playing in front of our fans at last. 25,000 is a great number. The one slight downside is that the whole fan community won’t be able to be there. A full Deutsche Bank Park would be great.”
