“I get the feeling that I’m wanted”

Daichi Kamada spoke about his decision to stay with Eintracht until 2023 and the influence that coach Adi Hütter had on that choice.

Daichi Kamada on…

…his contract extension: “Getting it done before the season starts is obviously a positive thing. I’d already had it clear in my head for a long while though that I wanted to stay here. I never thought about moving this summer. The only delay was down to sorting out the minor details of the contract.”

…why he chose to stay: “I think I played well in the second half of last season and I want to pick up where I left off. We’ve now got the chance to focus 100 per cent on the Bundesliga and to improve on what we managed last season. I also like this team a lot – I get a lot of recognition in return. And on top of that, I get the feeling from both the coach and the club that I’m wanted here, and that’s very important.”

Daichi Kamada

…his personal goals: “I wasn’t totally satisfied with my performances in the league – it was only the second half of the season that I was happy with – so I can definitely improve on that. This season, I’ve got it in mind to score more goals and have more assists. I’ve decided that I want to get 15 goal involvements.”
