“Character and passion”

Adi Hütter was “really impressed at times” by his team’s performance against Hoffenheim, but all involved reiterated the need to “keep going and keep working hard”.

Head coach Adi Hütter: “If you look at the 90 minutes, the win is a fair result. The way we played today really impressed me at times. We’ve had a good start to the season now, this team have character and we’re trying to gradually improve them. We won in the second half thanks the support of the fans and our strong desire. The players showed character and responded well to the passion from the fans.”

Kevin Trapp: “Our belief was what made the difference. We had to buck our ideas up after going 1-0 down and we did that, so huge credit to everyone. We all gave absolutely everything, which was important. It was a great team performance, which makes me and all of us proud. Let’s see what’s possible this season.”

Steven Zuber: “It was a deserved win. You saw that we can respond to going behind. We started very well but then suffered a setback with their goal. Overall we fought very well, dominated the game and fully deserved the three points. We need to keep going and keep working hard.”
