“We get on really well with each other”

Timothy Chandler assesses his personal situation, the win against Augsburg and the upcoming trip to Munich.

Timothy Chandler on ...

…the game against Bayern Munich: “Training has been good this week – the sessions have been intense. The win in our last game boosted our confidence, and now we need to continue to push on and pick up as many points as possible. We need to frustrate Bayern on Saturday, be strong in the tackle and stop them from playing. If it turns it into a battle, we know we can beat Bayern. We want to give our all and try to get something from the game. We haven’t done too badly in Munich in recent years.”

…qualifying for Europe: “We know where we are and we’ve been there a while. We want to stay there [in sixth place] until the end, and to do that we need to pick up points.”

It means an awful lot to continue to represent and play football for this club.

…the squad: “We’ve become closer, which you could see from the way we celebrated Omar’s goal against Augsburg. We get on really well with each other. We need to keep working on that.”

…his personal situation: “I’m obviously not completely satisfied with it. I give my all in training and want to play more. I’ve made more appearances this season and registered one or two important assists. I continue to work hard and want to play more often. When the time is right, I’m here.”

…his contract extension: “It means an awful lot to continue to represent and play football for this club. I want to keep doing that as long as I’m fit, not in any pain and feeling good. Everyone knows I love Eintracht. It’s my second home, my second family. I’m unbelievably proud and happy that my family and I can stay in Frankfurt. We’ll have to see what happens after my career, but I’ll definitely stay at Eintracht Frankfurt.”
