Lucas Silva Melo, known as ‘Tuta’, joins from Brazilian side Sao Paulo FC. The versatile defender, who can play at either centre-back or right-back, has penned a four-and-half-year contract at Eintracht.
“This signing follows our policy of developing young and talented players,” said Eintracht board member Fredi Bobic. “Like other young players, who have already been able to take the next step in their development, we hope that Tuta can benefit us in the long term. We’ll give him the time and the opportunity to develop here. We’ve been watching him closely for a while and are convinced by his potential.”
“Full of excitement”
“I’m looking forward to the challenge at Eintracht Frankfurt,” said Tuta. “It’s my first big club, so it’s special. I’ve already heard lots of positive things about Frankfurt and I’m full of excitement.” Tuta, who was born on 4 July 1999, has recently turned out for Sao Paulo’s reserve team and will wear the number 35 shirt for the Eagles.
