Borré back in Frankfurt, trio doing well

Striker Rafael Borré has returned from an extended holiday, while Jens Grahl, Kristijan Jakic and Goncalo Paciencia are also back in training.

Eintracht Frankfurt have completed their first full week of training since returning to the practice pitches at Deutsche Bank Park last Thursday. Jens Grahl, Kristijan Jakic and Goncalo Paciencia were isolating at home until recently after testing positive for COVID-19 prior to their return to Frankfurt – although none of them were showing symptoms. Having now returned negative PCR tests, the trio are allowed to return to work with their colleagues.

After being given the day off on Monday, the Eintracht squad will be put through their paces once a day up to and including Friday. On Tuesday, the players worked up a sweat in the gym before taking part in a brief session on the pitch under the guidance of head coach Oliver Glasner. Rafael Santos Borré was also back with the squad, having been given an extended break due to his international exertions in the final third of 2021.

Jens Petter Hauge and Christopher Lenz, however, are still training on their own as they continue to recover from their respective injuries. Jakic was unable to take full part in the session after his recent hip problem, but Sebastian Rode is cautiously optimistic about the midfielder’s chances of featuring against Borussia Dortmund. “Kristijan will hopefully join us over the course of the week,” said the Eintracht skipper.
