Prince Boateng, who broke the deadlock with a superb long-range strike: "It was difficult for us in the second half against the attacking quality Hoffenheim have. We were too late to the ball once and then conceded the equaliser. I don't think it was a foul in the build-up to their goal, but we can't make excuses about whether or not the ball was a couple of yards too far forward or too far back for the free-kick. Maybe we just need to be a bit smarter and stand in front of the ball to stop them taking it so that we can organise ourselves better at the back. They made the most of those few seconds to score. I had a bit of luck with my goal. You probably only catch the ball like that once in your life. If I'd hit it slightly differently it would probably have gone way over."
Midfielder Marc Stendera: "The ball fluttered around nicely when Prince hit it, it was a great goal. Unfortunately it wasn't enough to get the win in the end, even though we hardly allowed them to create any clear chances. It's disappointing because we had one or two good opportunities on the break to go 2-0 up. I don't think it was a foul before their goal, but there's no point moaning about it now. If we'd been smarter about it then we wouldn't have conceded. It's frustrating that we threw away the lead because we could've won the game."
Eintracht coach Niko Kovac was as forthright as ever in his analysis of the match: "In terms of chances created, we should definitely have won, but we can be happy to have 19 points on the board. It should never have been a free-kick [before the Hoffenheim goal], but we should've defended it much better. We need to work on situations like that and learn from them. We still had 60 or 70 yards in which to defend the attack, so we have to do better in order to win here. It's a shame when you concede so late in the game. Luck's been on our side a lot already this season, but unfortunately we were on the receiving end today. Still, we picked up another point away from home, which is good. Boateng's goal was great, Prince has got a very powerful shot. We had other chances too, so we should've killed the game off earlier. Now we need to draw a line under the game and forget about it because we've got another important match coming up against Leverkusen."
