Benevento Calcio 1-1 Eintracht Frankfurt

The Eagles drew 1-1 in another friendly, this time against Benevento Calcio who were promoted to Serie A last season. Gacinovic scored for SGE.

Niko Kovac brought on 11 new starters compared to the last friendly against U.S. Sassuolo (also a 1-1 full time score). Lukas Hradeckyplayed the first half in goal and was replaced by Jan Zimmermann after the break. Willems, Russ, Knothe and da Costa were in the back four, Stendera and Cetin in midfield and Kamad, Barkok and Wolf backed up striker Jovic.

Around 1,200 witnessed good scoring opportunities for Eintracht in the first half, especially a Knothe header against the crossbar (16'). Also Stendera had a couple of good chances but Benevento took the lead when Lucioni tapped in following a corner situation (34').

Next to goalie Zimmermann also Gacinovic, Tawatha, Dadashov, Besuschkow and Fernandes were subbed in during the second half. Jovic had good chances but was off target (56', 73') but it was Gacinovic who got the equalizer after a decent run through the Benevento defense and a good set-up of Dadashov (76').

Good performance

Eintracht manager Niko Kovac: "We had a young team on the pitch today and they did really well; I am happy about the performance. The lads showed good movement and passing. We will have a final training session tomorrow and then head home."
