Jakic's Croatia back on track

After two games without a win, Croatia turned things around with an impressive 1-0 victory away to Denmark, while Kamada’s Japan are in the final of the Kirin Cup.

UEFA Nations League: Croatia still in with a chance

With Denmark having kicked off their UEFA Nations League campaign with two wins and Croatia managing just one point, the Scandinavians were very much the favourites on Friday night in Copenhagen. The home team certainly dominated proceedings in the first half, but Kristijan Jakic and team-mates managed to weather the storm and keep the scoreline goalless until the break.

The Eagle was then one of three players taken off at the break, but he got to watch as the 2018 World Cup finalists picked up the pace after the change of ends and took the game to the group leaders. Mainz-born Mario Pasalic then scored the only goal of the game in the 69th minute to give Croatia three crucial points.

Kamada rested for exhibition tournament

Japan cruised through their Kirin Cup semi-final, sweeping Ghana aside 4-1. Daichi Kamada was given the night off and got to watch the match from the bench. The final will be played on Tuesday at 11:55 CEST in Osaka, with the opponents being Tunisia who saw off Chile 2-0.
