Aymen Barkok, whose Eintracht Frankfurt contract will expire on 30 June this year, will join 1. FSV Mainz 05 for the start of the 2022/23 campaign.
Barkok, who joined the Eagles’ youth academy in 2013, will have spent nine years at Eintracht by the time he leaves the club – aside from a two-year loan spell at Fortuna Düsseldorf between 2018 and 2020. The highlight of his time in Frankfurt was the DFB Cup triumph in 2018.
After returning from Africa Cup of Nations duty, Barkok will join his current team-mates in preparing for Saturday’s trip to VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga.
