This Sunday, Eintracht will learn who they face first in the 80th edition of the DFB Cup. The first round ties will be played between 29 July and 1 August.
As usual, the 36 teams from the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 will be joined by the four best teams from the third division last season, plus the 21 amateur state cup winners and one team each from the three largest state associations of Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony.
Eintracht are in pot one, along with 31 other teams from the top two divisions. The second pot is made up of the bottom four from Bundesliga 2 last season (Jahn Regensburg, Dynamo Dresden, Erzgebirge Aue and Ingolstadt) and the amateur clubs, of which only one is still to be confirmed. The team from pot two is always at home in the first round.
