Braunschweig preparations under way

The Eagles were at full strength in a fast-paced training session ahead of their first competitive game of the new season in four days’ time.

With four days to go until their DFB Cup first-round tie at Eintracht Braunschweig, all members of Eintracht Frankfurt’s first-team squad were out on the training pitch at Deutsche Bank Park on Thursday. The 24 outfield players and four goalkeepers, including U19 custodian Amil Siljevic, worked up a sweat in an intense session in front of former Eintracht star Jan Aage Fjörtoft, who was watching from the sidelines.

As well as a half-hour athletics session rounded off by a sprinting competition, the focus was on perfecting different patterns of play. From passing drills to pressing exercises, the goal was to attack the opposition at top speed.

The Eagles will train once a day until Sunday before kicking off their 2024/25 campaign at 20:45 CEST on Monday. Dino Toppmöller and his players will depart for Braunschweig on Sunday evening.
