Head coach Adi Hütter: “It’s a thoroughly deserved win, both from an attacking and defensive perspective. At one end we produced some wonderful passing moves, but we also defended really well at the other. We made a statement today by beating a top side. The manner of victory impressed me in particular, coming from behind to maintain our unbeaten run at home. If we play like that more frequently over 90 minutes, I’m sure we’ll get plenty more wins. We’re within touching distance [of the teams above us] now and have an opportunity to put ourselves in an even better position in the coming weeks. To do that we need to keep playing to our limits, because every win is hard-fought in the Bundesliga.”
We defended exceptionally well against a really strong attack. That was the key today.

Martin Hinteregger: “We continued exactly where we left off in our last few games of last year. We defended exceptionally well against a really strong attack. That was the key today. We find it easier against teams who like to play football, but deep-lying opponents aren’t a problem anymore either because we’ve improved technically and raised our game.”
Djibril Sow: “We’re over the moon to have held on for the home win. We had a chance to make it 3-1 but didn’t manage to take it. I’m feeling good and I’ve been working on myself. We’re playing better and better football, including today against a top side. We need to produce another performance like that against Mainz next Saturday.”
