DFB Cup winner in Berlin, World Cup runner-up in Russia: it’s been quite a summer for Ante Rebic. First he helped Eintracht to their first trophy in 30 years, and then his impressive performances contributed to Croatia’s greatest ever sporting success at the World Cup. Now the 24-year-old is back in Frankfurt following his summer break and began his training programme on Monday.
“Looking forward to seeing the boys”
Rebic’s first two days back will consist of the obligatory fitness and performance tests, before he trains with his teammates again for the first time on Wednesday. “I’ve recovered well in the last three weeks,” said the attacker. “At first we celebrated the success in spectacular fashion in Croatia, but in the last ten days I’ve been resting and preparing intently. I’m looking forward to training with my teammates now. I can’t wait to see the boys again and to welcome the newcomers.”
