Eintracht Frankfurt have appointed Andreas Möller as head of the club’s youth academy following a unanimous agreement between the Eintracht Frankfurt e.V. steering committee and the Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG board. The Frankfurt-born legend has signed a contract until 30 June 2022 and takes office with immediate effect

The World Cup and European Championship winner is delighted to be taking over: “Eintracht’s development over the past few years has been impressive in every department. I’ve been lucky enough to gain experience at the highest levels of both senior and youth football and I look forward bringing that to the club. Improving the players’ individual quality is something I’m keen to focus on in particular.”

New priorities

Fredi Bobic, who heads up the management board on the sporting side, gave his view on the appointment: “Over the past few weeks we’ve undergone a process to take a new direction in terms of the structure of the youth academy, bringing in a broader range of staff. In Andreas Möller we’ve not only got one of Germany’s most successful footballers among our ranks, we’ve also got a proven expert who embodies German football’s renewed focus on individual quality and tempo. We wanted to make a real statement to underpin the values at the heart of our youth strategy. Andy has a great reputation both here and abroad. He’s also very well connected.”
