The DFB Cup round of 16 draw took place on Sunday evening, handing Eintracht Frankfurt a trip to Leipzig in a fixture that pits together the 2023 finalists – a match Leipzig won 2-0. In their previous cup encounter, the Eagles earned a 3-1 home victory in the last 16 in February 2020.
The DFB has not yet finalised the exact date and time for the tie, but it will take place on either Tuesday 3 or Wednesday 4 December 2024 at the Red Bull Arena.
Head coach Dino Toppmöller on the draw: “We’ve been given one of the toughest draws possible with an away game in Leipzig. But we gladly accept the challenge and are already looking forward to an exciting cup night. We’ll do everything we can to reach the quarter-finals.”
