Jérôme Onguéné has been loaned out to former club Salzburg until the end of the season. As leaders in the championship play-offs, the team are currently on course for the Austrian Bundesliga title. Onguéné has been included in the squad four times so far, but head coach Matthias Jaissle is yet to use him. The 25-year-old has also been hampered by a toe injury.
Key player in form for Fürth
It’s going better for Ragnar Ache. The 24-year-old striker is on loan at SpVgg Greuther Fürth and scored the equaliser in the friendly against Eintracht on Thursday. In his last seven competitive appearances, Ache has scored four goals and set up two. He’s started 19 of 26 matches this term.
Matanovic hit by injury
Igor Matanovic, who’s in his second loan spell with FC St. Pauli, is currently sidelined by a shoulder injury. The striker featured 15 times for the second-tier side in the first half of the campaign.
Hauge on course for championship play-offs in Belgium
Jens Petter Hauge has been playing for KAA Gent in the Jupiler Pro League since last summer. The team are doing well, sitting in fourth place in the league and hoping to qualify for the championship play-offs. They’ve also reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Hauge has had to settle for a bench role so far under coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck. The Norwegian has made just one start in the league and is yet to register a goal or an assist.
Six starts for Akman
Ali Akman is on loan at Turkish second-division outfit Göztepe. The relegated side have had a disappointing season so far and currently occupy ninth place. Akman has featured in 12 of a possible 27 league games, although the striker has featured just once since the turn of the year.
Patience required for Foti
Antonio Foti started with a bang for Hannover 96 with a goal and an assist in his first two games. Since then, however, the youngest of Frankfurt’s six loanees has had to be patient. His club, where he has a loan deal until summer 2024, are currently on a bad run of form. Until missing a few weeks because of a foot injury in February, Foti had been included in the squad for every game. Although he’s not registered any goal involvements since that impressive introduction and has only made one start, Foti does at least offer hope for the Reds for next season.
